Halloween is on the Horizon

Yes, yes, I know its not the 1st yet but I really can’t help myself.

I have had some fun the past few weeks.  TRYING to get into fall.  Even tho the first day of fall was almost 100*  :(

I made a super cute BOO banner.  Cousin did a class at her LSS in Stockton.  I'm glad I went it was super fun.

Look at all that Yummy goodness!  The new Basic Grey there is glimmer mist and cute little skull beads! It was so much fun.   I think Cousin has a few kits in her Etsy so hit her up if you love it as much as I do.

I also saw a super cute template on Martha’s site.  Its for a little coffin candy box.. I really like it I'm pretty happy at how it came out and I think I'm going to make up a few for a party.. I could put treats and stuff in them I guess.. I hate that I make cute stuff and don't have a use for it.. Its a bit lop sided but Eh, its for Halloween so who cares…

 

So there you have it some fun stuff.. I need to get my kids out to the pumpkin patch for some pictures.  I cant wait for the weather to cool down!

Some info on the fall Glimmer mist colors

Ok if you are like me then you were wondering what the difference was between the new fall glimmer mist colors of.. Pumpkin Pie, and Jack-o- Lantern, Raven, and Cinder and just what does Haunted shadows look like?  I have the Blog post for you!

 

Ok I first bought some of the fall colors the day they were out.  I got Carmel apple, Cinder, Pumpkin pie, and Indian corn.  I like cinder and Pumpkin pie but then found that Tattered Angels made a Halloween stencil  pack.. Those colors were Haunted shadows, Jack-o-lantern, and Raven..

I wrote to Tattered angels asking what the difference was.. and NEVER got a reply.. I wanted to know if it was just slight change or heck the same colors in but different names..

 

so here we go Ill tell you what I see.

Haunted shadows is a purplish color with gold or coppery  glimmer.

Indian corn is a red plum color..with a coppery shimmer

Cinder is Black with a bluish purple  shimmer

Raven is I would say is a Deep blue, navy even.. with a bright purple glimmer

Jack O Lantern is Warm orange with kind of a green copper shimmer

Pumpkin Pie is a bit more orange with a copper shimmer

Carmel apple is a tan color with a warm copper shimmer.

so there you go, some of the new fall colors for you to compare.  My biggest complaint with Tattered angels is of the sample colors of their products.  I also do not like how they do not tell you the color of the shimmer.  I know its hard to photograph this stuff. But that is all the more reason to post the colors of the shimmer..

But I'm kind of a nerd that way .

OMG I’m Scared to death

In the morning I'm going to go be on Good Day Sacramento.  I entered a Pizza building contest .. I made it to the top 5!! I have to get up at 3am to drive to the station and I will make my pizza on air.  Then the  pizzas of the top 5 will be voted on.  The winner will receive free pizza for a year!  AND their pizza will be put on the menu at Papa Murphy's all over

 

SOO Ill let you all know how it goes once its done and over with   I'm so so glad that cousin is going along for the ride.   She is going to be there for me I'm so happy for that

 

On to scrappy news.  I've been busy actually getting pages done I went to Stockton with Cousin for a midnight crop.  I got two done there :

I have on order the Glimmer mist Halloween kit that comes with the kitty screen and Halloween colors called raven, haunted shadows, and jack o lantern.  I also ordered marshmallow.   I cannot wait for these to get here!  Ill post up the differences on here with picture as to the difference in shade and glimmer.

Summer Drags on.. and ON and ON

 

 

I'm So done with summer!  I always get this way right after my birthday.  I'm ready for fall!  COMMON fall!  I went to Michaels on the 3rd of July and saw Halloween stuff being put out!  Nothing makes me happier than seeing that Halloween/fall stuff. 

I don't mind summer, so much, but It does drag on around here.  Heck, in October we go to the Pumpkin patches in Shorts.

 

So in my desire for cooler days and Fall color I bring you The Fall  ‘09 Glimmer mist line up…..

I have Carmel apple, Indian corn, Pumpkin Pie, and cinder coming in a few days!  Once I have it I  will spray it and post pictures.  If you are like me then you are bothered by the fact that Tattered Angels don't tell you the color of the glimmer in the bottle.. That's important to me!! I don't want to speculate because I’ll get my hopes up and be very upset if the glimmer don't live up to my hopes .  So for now Ill wait but it should be here soon.

 

I also read on their site that they are putting out a WHITE for Winter.  OH the joy of that!! I have my hopes set high for that one.

Summer has kept me busy

I know I haven't done a damn thing when it comes to posting or scrapbooking..

I have been enjoying summer and as I type this I'm getting ready to to retrieve my hubby from San Diego.  I'm Excited as all get out!.

So The past month has been full of river trips and BBQs what more can you ask for in a summer?

 

I simply adore the river.  These were Taken at Mc. Henry ave Rec area.

 

We got a new member of our family.  A kitty.  Scott had been begging for a kitten so I caved when I saw this guy.  Yet to be named but I like Timmy so far.

 

So I'm hoping to get my ass moving on some pages after my Trip.. wish me luck

I’ve been bad

So being away from my hubby has finally gotten to me enough that I had to go visit him.  I went on a 8 hour drive to see him, Hug him and kiss him.. I drove 8 hours for a BOOTY call LOL

It was worth it!

I feel bad that I left my three kids with  my mom and dad.  EVEN worse my sister rode with me… so mom and dad had to keep Melanie too. 

I'm happy that I had her go with me that drive is really really long.

During the day Tiff and I were free to do what we wanted.  My hubby couldn't get time off during the days.  I was sad but knew that might be a problem.

Went to the beach and walked around a bit. i have this strange issue with noticing the colors of sand.  This one was black-ish which was cool Never seen one like that personally

The second day we went to the Natural History museum..

They had the awesome exhibit called Body world.. OMG its amazing and you cant take pics but here  is a link so you can see what it is..

If you Ever get a chance to see San Diego.. GO!!  It was amazing I was surprised at how pretty everything was.  I never once saw graffiti which amazed me to no end in a City so large.   The museums are all in a place called BALBOA PARK its amazing!  There are tons of things to do there.   More piccys here..

I really fell in love with that area.  I didn't get to se as much as I wanted to but cant wait to go back in July and pick up my husband!  We are going to take a few days to do fun stuff as a family then. 

The trip home was bitter sweet.. I was happy to get home to my kids; but so, so heart broken that I didn't get to bring my husband home.   These past few months have been very hard and I couldn't stand it any longer I had to see him.  I broke down crying that I didn't take ONE picture of us together.  I was Heart broke at the thought.  I miss him even more now that I got to see him.  Im really thinking of packing everything up and putting it in storage to go live with him till July.  I know July is close but It hurts so badly!

Happy Cinco de Mayo

WOOHOO its time to drink a beer!  Well in my neighborhood anyway.. I decided for Mojo 34 “Cinco de mayo inspired..If you had a day to call your own and party like a rock star what would it be and what would u do?..2nd Use cinco de may decorations as inspiration”

 

Now I was drawing a total blank on something I would make up for my own.. there are already so many parties and holidays that I love to celebrate.  So I just made stuff for this one.

The beer cap bracelet was sort of a idea that jumped into my head.  It didn't come out exactly as I pictured it in my head but then again nothing ever does..

I think Ill try again with a different bracelet design.

 

the card I gave to a girl friend up the street.  I knew she had a pretty good since of humor, so I wasn't  worried she would get offended with the little hat there … actually it was quite a hit.   I still feel like this card needed something but I really couldn't come up with what and ran out of time so it was was given as is..

 

I haven't done much of anything lately I've been in a total funk for some reason.  I have been bad on my diet not following weight watchers points and stuff.  I don't know why but I'm being silly about it all.  I know I want to do the program but some times I get so childish over food.  I really think food is the toughest addiction to kick.

 

SO that's about it for me today :) have a good day and drink a beer or two
