Loads of LOVE for Cosmo cricket..

I got a package in the mail.  My new Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg and Jolly By Golly lines.  OOOOOH once again Cosmo makes my heart go pitter patter!

 

I jumped right in with the Nutmeg line..Making these two projects.

and this goofy turkey card.  The Idea jumped in to my head after looking on Martha's site.  She had done a Christmas ornament using paper and glitter.. She coned the paper just like that.  I thought “HMM could it be a turkey if I try hard enough ?”

 

Well i think it looks like a turkey.

 

I want to start making Holiday stuff so bad!  I have that jolly by golly line sitting there.. BUT I also want to give Thanksgiving  its day .  I may just have to bust out last years holiday pics much sooner than I normally do..

 

Ok so that's it for now.  Oh I did use the alcohol inks to color a Christmas tree ball.  These are cheap-o Dollar tree balls I’ve had up in the cupboard since last year.  Just thought I would give it a try.  I'm happy with the results.  THO just a word of caution:  The Blending solution will eat the paint off the outside of the ball if you use too much LOL

Moving on in to November..

Man time flies!  I can not believe it is November already.  October  was just a blink of an eye. We had fun with Halloween and all the decorations and pumpkin patches.  But as all that fades away into memory and scrapbook pages we march on..

It is now time for Thanksgiving.  So many people rush to get their Christmas stuff bought and up.  BUT not me.  I enjoy fall far too much to let it go at Halloween.. I want to enjoy some more easy going days before the mad rush of Christmas.

My family does Thanksgiving up right!  We do the big Norman Rockwell type of dinner.  Pumpkin, pecan, apple, and Cherry pies are made with love all from scratch.  My mom makes a KILLER cheese cake as well.   ITs all just too much fun to rush by on our way to Christmas.  I also use this time to make hats.. I enjoy Crochet which I always seem to want to do in the fall time.  I’ve been a hat making mama!

Jack was made for Cousin.  It’s sad because she asked for him a year ago.. I made one up but it was fit for a Giant! So finally I got this one done for her and she LOVES it!

I have a few more hats in the work; that I promised people and I do not want to take a whole year to get them their hats LOL..

Now don't get me wrong .. I cant wait for the  day after Thanksgiving.. while everyone else is out shopping I put up my decorations.   We have thousands of small lights that we cover every inch of our trees and yard with.  For living in a town home we do a pretty awesome display.

 

So any way on to scrappy stuff..

I’m also stalking my letter carrier.. Today or tomorrow I should be getting my new Cosmo!!  I ordered the Nutmeg line and Jolly by Golly..I so cant not wait to get these. I want to make some fall wall plaques  with the Nutmeg line I made some fun Halloween ones but they are already put away with the fog machine and cauldron..SIGH

Fall fun!

I just cant say it enough.. I LOVE this time of year!   Took the kids to the regular pumpkin patch last Sunday.  SUCH fun was had.  I love to see the kids run and play.  Its great to just enjoy the season.

I took lots of pictures for my scrapbook pages :D

 

First off I want to share this sweet picture.  Moms Dog Daisy had puppies and this one was a runt.. Daisy kept pushing him away and burying him in the blankets.  Which is not good news if you know dogs. I had found him away from the others and put him in my bra to keep him warm.  Sadly Nature is not always fair and Doggy mommies know best this one did not make it.  It is a sad fact of nature and sometimes our hearts get in the way.

 

This is one of the Sisters to that little guy up there.  As you can see she is a much larger rolly polly puppy. 

 

 

Ok enough with the sad news.. 6 females are doing just fine and I will have more pictures up soon..

 

I also went to my cousins oldest sons birthday party It was a lot of fun..  I always love to get the kids together.

 

 

I didn’t really get many good pictures but the kids had fun none the less.

 

I also pulled out my Halloween stuff for decorating :D  Which I did not take photos of yet.

HHHHHHHHHHHHH cool days

Well it FINALLY happened!  Our weather cooled down.. WOOHOOOOO!

I'm being a bit of a slacker here its Oct. 2nd and I have NOT gone to a pumpkin patch yet..*gasp*  something must be wrong with me.

Well not to worry the past few weeks I've been lurking the pumpkin carving sites.. My very favorite is Zombie Pumpkins  http://www.zombiepumpkins.com/

I can’t wait to get my hands on  my first pumpkin of the season.. I will be doing that soon.. VERY soon.

 

Till then here are some layouts I've done:

My pages lately have favored my youngest son.  But last year Halloween was new to him. the Pumpkins and all that stuff was fresh and new in his eyes.  I find joy in that.

I also made this at the Midnight Crop in Oakdale.  I didn't do much else but sit there and make these LOL

Ok that's it for now.  I can’t wait for Sat.  Its cousins oldest sons birthday and I love getting the kids together.  Its going to be fun!

 

OH and those little coffins?  well I need to make one a tad bigger for my camera :(  My trusty Canon S2IS has kicked the bucket.. I'm heart broken.. Nothing worse could happen to me in the fall time.  I take hundreds of pictures.. BUT luckily my sweet son has allowed me to use his camera.. Its still a canon a Power shot A470.. so my computer programs and stuff still work..It has bigger mega pixels than my old one but far less zoom :(   Still its a pretty good camera and I cant bitch Its a camera after all I don't have to be with out during this fab. time of year

Halloween is on the Horizon

Yes, yes, I know its not the 1st yet but I really can’t help myself.

I have had some fun the past few weeks.  TRYING to get into fall.  Even tho the first day of fall was almost 100*  :(

I made a super cute BOO banner.  Cousin did a class at her LSS in Stockton.  I'm glad I went it was super fun.

Look at all that Yummy goodness!  The new Basic Grey there is glimmer mist and cute little skull beads! It was so much fun.   I think Cousin has a few kits in her Etsy so hit her up if you love it as much as I do.

I also saw a super cute template on Martha’s site.  Its for a little coffin candy box.. I really like it I'm pretty happy at how it came out and I think I'm going to make up a few for a party.. I could put treats and stuff in them I guess.. I hate that I make cute stuff and don't have a use for it.. Its a bit lop sided but Eh, its for Halloween so who cares…

 

So there you have it some fun stuff.. I need to get my kids out to the pumpkin patch for some pictures.  I cant wait for the weather to cool down!

Some info on the fall Glimmer mist colors

Ok if you are like me then you were wondering what the difference was between the new fall glimmer mist colors of.. Pumpkin Pie, and Jack-o- Lantern, Raven, and Cinder and just what does Haunted shadows look like?  I have the Blog post for you!

 

Ok I first bought some of the fall colors the day they were out.  I got Carmel apple, Cinder, Pumpkin pie, and Indian corn.  I like cinder and Pumpkin pie but then found that Tattered Angels made a Halloween stencil  pack.. Those colors were Haunted shadows, Jack-o-lantern, and Raven..

I wrote to Tattered angels asking what the difference was.. and NEVER got a reply.. I wanted to know if it was just slight change or heck the same colors in but different names..

 

so here we go Ill tell you what I see.

Haunted shadows is a purplish color with gold or coppery  glimmer.

Indian corn is a red plum color..with a coppery shimmer

Cinder is Black with a bluish purple  shimmer

Raven is I would say is a Deep blue, navy even.. with a bright purple glimmer

Jack O Lantern is Warm orange with kind of a green copper shimmer

Pumpkin Pie is a bit more orange with a copper shimmer

Carmel apple is a tan color with a warm copper shimmer.

so there you go, some of the new fall colors for you to compare.  My biggest complaint with Tattered angels is of the sample colors of their products.  I also do not like how they do not tell you the color of the shimmer.  I know its hard to photograph this stuff. But that is all the more reason to post the colors of the shimmer..

But I'm kind of a nerd that way .

OMG I’m Scared to death

In the morning I'm going to go be on Good Day Sacramento.  I entered a Pizza building contest .. I made it to the top 5!! I have to get up at 3am to drive to the station and I will make my pizza on air.  Then the  pizzas of the top 5 will be voted on.  The winner will receive free pizza for a year!  AND their pizza will be put on the menu at Papa Murphy's all over

 

SOO Ill let you all know how it goes once its done and over with   I'm so so glad that cousin is going along for the ride.   She is going to be there for me I'm so happy for that

 

On to scrappy news.  I've been busy actually getting pages done I went to Stockton with Cousin for a midnight crop.  I got two done there :

I have on order the Glimmer mist Halloween kit that comes with the kitty screen and Halloween colors called raven, haunted shadows, and jack o lantern.  I also ordered marshmallow.   I cannot wait for these to get here!  Ill post up the differences on here with picture as to the difference in shade and glimmer.
